Health
“He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything” – Arabic proverb
Health is an essential part of the development of human resources and quality of life and in turn the social and economic development of a nation. A positive health status is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not only the absence of disease or infirmity (WHO, 1946). Health is a regardless priority for sustained development interventions both at the individual, community and national levels. A provision of basic health care services to the rural community is the primary objective of the government of India as well as any Healthcare NGO in India in the context of rural development. Rural health services, safe drinking water, sanitation, nutrition, etc., have, therefore, been brought together by various Healthcare NGO in India in the form of an integrated package to improve the social, economic and health conditions of the people.
